What Is SLF?
Sertifikat Laik Fungsi is a certificate issued by SLF the local government to declare that a building is fit for use and occupancy.
The assessment for SLF approval involves both administrative and technical inspections conducted by certified experts in architecture, civil engineering, mechanical-electrical-plumbing (MEP), and environmental fields.
An SLF is valid for 5 years for non-residential buildings and 10 years for residential buildings. Once expired, it must be renewed to and ensure continued compliance and functionality of the building.

Legal Basis SLF

Why is the SLF So Important?
The SLF (Certificate of Feasibility for Functionality) is a mandatory document required for the utilization of any building. According to its legal framework, buildings that do not possess a valid SLF may be subject to administrative sanctions—even demolition.
An SLF serves as legal proof that a building complies with both administrative and technical regulations. It ensures that the structure is safe, functional, and in accordance with existing standards, helping to minimize risks or undesirable incidents during the building's operational use.

FAQ
The cost for SLF application can be determined once our technical assessment team has the necessary information, including the location of the building, type of business, total building area, and completeness of the required administrative documents.
In general, the exact timeline for SLF processing cannot be determined precisely, as it depends on the completeness of administrative and technical documents, as well as the scheduling of hearings by the relevant government agency. However, our technical assessment team typically produces the technical review report within 40 to 60 working days after the site survey is conducted.
If recommendations are issued by the experts or technical assessors, the applicant is required to sign a statement of commitment to fulfill the necessary improvements. In some regions, the improvements must be completed before the SLF (Sertifikat Laik Fungsi) can be issued. However, in other regions, the SLF may be issued with a time-limited tolerance, requiring that the improvements be completed within a specified period afterward.
If the missing documents fall within the scope of our agreed services, our team will gladly assist in completing them. However, if the required documents are outside the initial scope of work, we will provide an addendum to formalize the additional services.
